COLLAB: Zephyr x Kākano Youth Arts Collective: Celebrating Creativity, Coffee & Culture, meet Our Newest Artist, Sarah Kaulima

At Zephyr, we believe in the power of creativity to connect communities, tell stories, and inspire change. That’s why we’re proud to continue our partnership with Kākano Youth Arts Collective, a vibrant creative space that empowers disadvantaged rangatahi through the transformative power of art.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local talent and community initiatives, we’re thrilled to introduce the latest artist to feature on our Architect & Blacksmith coffee bags: Sarah Kaulima, also known as CC.

A Bold New Voice in Pacific Art

At just 20 years old, Sarah is already making waves with her distinctive abstract style. Her work is a bold celebration of her Pacific heritage, drawing deeply from traditional motifs and reimagining them through a contemporary lens. Her latest piece, now proudly featured on our coffee bags, is a stunning example of her artistic voice—layered, vibrant, and full of meaning.

With a strong geometric foundation, Sarah’s artwork pulses with rhythmic patterns, deep burgundy, vivid pinks, and a striking electric lime accent. It’s a visual feast that captures the energy and spirit of her culture, while also reflecting the warmth and richness of the coffee experience.

More Than Just Art—A Story in Every Stroke

Sarah’s piece is more than a beautiful design—it’s a story of connection. Inspired by the ritual of drinking coffee, her work mirrors the way a shared cup can bring people together, spark conversation, and create community. Each brushstroke is a nod to ancestral patterns and shared stories, echoing the values that both Zephyr and Kākano hold dear.

A Collaboration Rooted in Purpose

Our collaboration with Kākano is about more than aesthetics. It’s about amplifying young voices, celebrating cultural identity, and investing in the future of Aotearoa’s creative community. By featuring artists like Sarah, we’re not only showcasing incredible talent—we’re helping to build pathways for rangatahi to thrive.

So next time you see a bag of Architect & Blacksmith, take a moment to appreciate the story it tells. It’s a celebration of creativity, coffee, and culture—and a reminder that every cup can be a catalyst for change.
